Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT)

Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT) are naturally occurring fats that are rapidly absorbed by the body and used for energy.

The majority of fat in our diet is made up of long-chain fatty acids, which are found in most of the processed foods, vegetable and soy oils. In contrast, the medium-chain fatty acids in MCTs contain metabolize much more quickly and differently to the Long Chain Triglycerides (LCT). These shorter chain fatty acids are sent directly to the liver where they are almost entirely burned for fuel. Because the calories contained in MCTs are more efficiently turned into energy and used by the body, they’re less likely to be stored as fat.

MCTs can also be converted into ketones, which are produced from the breakdown of fat when carbohydrate is low. If you’re following a ketogenic diet, which is very low in carbs yet high in fat, taking MCT oil could possibly help you stay in the fat-burning state known as ketosis.

How to measure this product without using a scoop

1. Standard Serving Size: Approx. 10g per serve.

2. Measuring:

   • Teaspoon Method: About 1 teaspoon is roughly 5 grams, so you may need about 2 teaspoons for a full serving of 10 grams.

   • Digital Scale: For best accuracy, use a digital scale to measure exactly 10g
