Getting enough protein doesn't have to mean drinking the same vanilla shake every single day. If you're staring down another week of the same routine, here are three recipes that use whey protein in ways that actually taste like food, not a chalky afterthought.
Overnight Oats With a Protein Boost
Combine 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 scoop of Whey Protein Isolate (vanilla or unflavoured both work), 3/4 cup milk of your choice, and a tablespoon of chia seeds in a jar. Stir well, seal it, and leave it in the fridge overnight. In the morning you've got a thick, protein-heavy breakfast with roughly 30g of protein, no cooking involved. Add frozen berries or a spoon of peanut butter on top if you want more flavour.
Protein Pancakes That Don't Fall Apart
The trick with protein pancakes is not overloading the batter with powder, too much and they turn rubbery. Mix 1 mashed banana, 2 eggs, half a scoop of Whey Protein Concentrate, and a splash of milk until smooth. Cook low and slow in a non-stick pan, they'll hold together better than most recipes that skip the banana. Our Complex Protein blend works well here too if you want a slower-digesting version for a weekend breakfast.
Iced Protein Coffee
If you're someone who doesn't love a thick shake, this one's lighter. Blend a shot of cold coffee (or a strong instant coffee, cooled) with a scoop of Protein Water or a light vanilla WPI, ice, and a splash of milk. It's closer to a protein-boosted iced latte than a meal replacement, and it's an easy way to get a serve of protein in without sitting down to eat.
None of these need special equipment or a long ingredient list, they're just small tweaks to things you're probably already eating. If you've got a recipe of your own using one of our proteins, we'd genuinely like to hear about it.
