Description
Kinesiology tape is a special type of elastic adhesive tape that is designed to support and stabilize muscles, tendons, and ligaments without limiting the range of motion. It is commonly used by athletes and physical therapists to help alleviate pain and improve performance.
The tape is made of a stretchy, breathable material that can be applied to the skin in a variety of patterns and techniques. It is believed to work by providing a light mechanical lift to the skin, which can help to improve circulation and reduce inflammation.
Kinesiology tape can be used to treat a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including sprains, strains, muscle soreness, and overuse injuries. It can also be used to help improve posture and support proper body mechanics during physical activity.
While kinesiology tape can be a useful tool for supporting muscle and joint health, it is important to note that it is not intended to replace professional medical advice or treatment. If you are experiencing pain or other health issues, it is always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional for proper diagnosis and treatment.
BENEFITS OF USING KINESIOLOGY TAPE
- REDUCES MUSCLE FATIGUE
- ASSISTS WEAK OR INJURED MUSCLES
- REDUCES SWELLING
- REDUCES LYMPHEDEMA
- HELPS IMPROVE CIRCULATION
Features
• Material: 97% cotton with an acrylic adhesive coating, 3% elastane.
• The length of the tapes can be extended in order to avoid restrictions on movement.
• The tapes are air-permeable and liquid-permeable.
• As the tapes are water-resistant, they can be worn for several days. You can shower or bathe without any problems. However, salt water and heavy sweating can cause the tapes to detach more quickly.
• The tapes are free of any drugs and active ingredients.
• The tapes have a broad range of applications.
Applying the tape
Applying the Tape (Basic Procedure)
The tape should be applied at least around an hour before any strenuous physical activities (in which you sweat) or showering/bathing so that it sticks on firmly.
Do not apply any heat treatment directly after applying the tape.
The acrylic adhesive coating is heat-sensitive, so the tape should be at least at room temperature when it is applied.
1.- To allow you to wear it for as long as possible, clean the area of skin on which the tape is to be stuck prior to application. It must be dry and free of any oil and grease. Excessive amounts of hair should be removed (after showering or bathing, you should not blow-dry or rub the tape dry, but just dab it dry).
2.- Cut the tape to a suitable length. The number of strips you require depends on the respective area to be covered. Round off the corners so that they stick better.
3.- When applying the tape strips, gradually peel off the protective paper from the adhesive coating. You can start either at one end of a strip or in the middle of a strip (to do this, the protective paper in the middle of the strip may need to be torn).
4.- Stick the ends of the tape always without stretching and directly on the skin in order to avoid subsequent detachment. The remaining bit of the tape can be stretched on application depending on where it is used.
5.- Once you have attached the tape, rub the tape on firmly with your hand so that the acrylic adhesive is activated by the frictional heat.

FAQ
How does Kinesiology Tape works?
When applied properly, the tape lifts the skin away from the muscle, which promotes positive changes in the body’s fluid, mechanical and neurological systems.
Do I have to clean the skin before applying Kinesiology Tape?
Yes, the skin needs to be free of oils or moisturisers or sweat to ensure the RockTape adheres effectively to the skin.
Do I need to shave the hair before I apply Kinesiology Tape?
In most cases it is not necessary to shave the skin before applying Kinesiology Tape. If the tape is removed correctly, there will be very little body hair removed with the kinesiology tape. However, If your skin is particularly sensitive or you have excess body hair growth, then shaving or even clippering the hair short may be of benefit.
How do I remove the tape?
The tape normally begins to detach itself after a few days. It is then easy to remove. The best option is to pull it off carefully wet (e.g. under the shower) in the direction of hair growth and, if possible, tauten skin as you do so.If you warm the tape up, e'g' with a blow dryer, it is even easier to pull it off.
